LIFE STYLE

1. Don't try crash diets - instead opt for a slow, steady and sustained program to lose weight.

2.An active lifestyle is healthy. Exercise regularly.

3. Try and incorporate a higher activity level into daily activities like taking a walk, riding a bike to the supermarket, climbing stairs instead of using the elevator and playing sports like badminton and basketball.

4. Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight or obese can increase your risk for heart disease.

5. Monitor your blood pressure. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so be sure to have it checked on a regular basis.

6.Don't smoke. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do smoke, quit as soon as possible.

7. Limit alcohol use. Avoid drinking too much alcohol, which can increase your blood pressure.

8. Have your cholesterol checked. Your health care provider should test your cholesterol levels at least once every 5 years.

9. Manage your diabetes. If you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar levels closely, and talk with your doctor about treatment options

10. Take your medicine. If you're taking medication to treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes, follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
